Welcome to davidhalligan.com. I'm a Leeds based IT Consultant in the Microsoft arena. I primarily work with SharePoint specialising in document centric business processes from capture, scanning, routing through case management workflows and storage within SharePoint or an Electronic Document and Records Management System. I also have excellent exposure to SharePoint publishing (managed development on UK's largest Sharepoint publishing site)

So, who is this David guy? and why the site?

I recently started a new role with a new company and I realised that throughout my career as an IT Professional I had learned a lot. I have had a lot of good and bad experiences and it is about time I shared some of my mistakes for others to learn from.

So I created this site. This is a place where I will try to organise my experience in such a way that it might help others.

I have recently accepted a role at Kofax EMEA as a senior professional services consultant. Previously working as a consultant for Morse (a Kofax partner)  I have always had good experience of the company and a deep understanding of their products so I am very pleased to accept this new role and new challenges.  I am hoping that I will be allowed to evangelise about new Kofax products and projects right here on my blog.

New Arrival: Chloe Rose

Play Baby Halligan

I am proud to say that on the 3rd of March (only 3 days before my own birthday) my wonderful Wife blessed me with another beautiful girl.  Baby Halligan, known more formally as Chloe Rose Halligan was born 7lb 12oz at 10:42 on the 3rd of March

Since march Chloe has been doing really well.  She is a happy fun baby with a very easy going personality.  Her sister loves her lots and likes to spend her time making her giggle and laugh.  Chloe has been sleeping quite well waking only once (usually 5am) for a top-up feed before sleeping until 8am.  It won't be long now before she is sleeping clean through the night and we can put her in her own room.

The Beast: @Coed y Brenin

Play Coed y Brenin

Before you jump to conclusions, The Beast isn't used as a perversion of the term, nor does it refer to the fat guy in the picture.  The Beast is the longest trail on offer at Coed y Brenin.  A black graded (for endurance and technical) trail that takes in almost the entire Coed y Brenin offering.  Tony, my sparing partner and I tackled the Beast on our second day in Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau (idiots pronunciation Dol-geth-lau) and it very almost beat me.

ImagePlanned Cycling Trips
I have decided to post a list of planned cycling trips on the website, firstly in the hope that other people will want to attend and secondly for historic reference, so I can track how much riding I am doing read more...
